So, Brad and Angelina are getting a divorce.
Well I didn’t see that one coming. They always seemed to be the model of a successful Hollywood marriage.
Always doting on each other and their 6 kids in public.
But I guess I’m not the only one who was surprised. The announcement sent shockwaves that rippled around the world.
Twitter erupted with panicked people wondering…
… Does this mark the end of love as we know it?
… What will all the fans do with their Brangelina tattoos now?
… Who will get custody of George Clooney?
There was even a report of a small earthquake near Los Angeles a few minutes after the news broke. (Though the US Geological Survey assured people it was just a coincidence.)
It just goes to show… you can’t judge someone’s life from their highlight reel.
In Brad and Angelina’s case, their highlight reel was the media.
For the rest of us mere mortals, it’s seeing what our friends are doing on Facebook.
Or hearing what schoolmates have been up to at the reunion.
Or standing in the playground wondering how that family possibly had time to build a scale model of a volcano.
We only ever see what people want us to see.
If you compare your life to these edited highlights, you’ll end up feeling insecure about yourself.
You’ll feel like you’re a failure, or even a disappointment to others.
And slowly but surely, that insecurity will eat away at your self-esteem.
It can be reversed though, so if your confidence or self-esteem needs rebuilding, book a session with me online.
